Social Media Manager (Freelance, Part Time) Los Angeles, Remote OK


YUMI is seeking a highly creative freelance Social Media Manager who will own TikTok and assist in social media coverage across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, as needed. Our ideal candidate works at the speed of culture, is 100% dialed-in to internet culture, not only hops onto existing trends –but starts them.

We are seeking a highly creative person who can produce and execute branded content single handedly. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for the overall workflow, development, execution, and management of TikTok. They will cohesively manage our company image to achieve our marketing goals, and locate, engage with, and grow our audience base.

They should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. Ultimately, they should be able to handle our social media presence, ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Own TikTok from start to finish
  • Develop a TikTok Strategy that aligns with the brand’s core values and mission and supports the business from a revenue point of view
  • Responsible for TikTok account growth, and ultimately turn TikTok into a revenue channel for YUMI
  • Showcase the brand’s mission and core values via unique and engagement content
  • Create sounds and hop on trends to achieve explosive growth on TikTok
  • Partner with TikTok Influencers to produce innovative content/sounds/ideas/host giveaways
  • Find ways to repurpose TikTok content across above-mentioned platforms
  • Co-creation and project management of creative asset requests and facilitating asset requests from other departments.
  • Must have an extreme attention to detail and eagle eye for catching errors (spelling errors, grammar, incorrect dates, etc.).
  • Scheduling out content on a daily/weekly basis to align with social media calendar, business goals and objectives, and writing captions in YUMI Brand voice.
  • Strategic execution and publishing of all social content including testing of frequency, timing and content type optimization (visual content, hashtag keywords, use of emojis etc.) to keep improving social performance.
  • Ability to plan ahead and be forward thinking about upcoming social media needs surrounding launches, seasonal efforts, or “national days” of celebration.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting per channel inclusive of top performing posts, impressions, engagement rates, click through rates, highest-performing days and times, etc. in addition to appropriately tagging and tracking each post to lend insight into the YUMI customer journey.
  • Ability to lend actionable insights to monthly social reports by formulating unique recommendations and opportunities, based upon key learnings from weekly reports.
  • Improve social media presence for the brand on all social media platforms by responding and engaging in real time
  • Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions with unique ideas for content production.
  • Drive process improvements that help us move more quickly, connect with customers in a more profound and meaningful way.
  • Must be able to thrive in a team environment with a flexible work schedule and desire to try new things.
